Excellent job on the show tonight, Steffi! She talked a lot more tonight because she, Carrie and Codi were the only three women doing the show. Stef gave some details about her children's show, and I'll fill you in with a recap tomorrow! There wasn't a lot of show prep, so they mostly chatted about random stuff like camping, hockey and Marijuana Day (4/20). I couldn't think of any funny personal stories or opinions about those topics, so I didn't call in. Then again, it wouldn't be special if I called in every month, so hopefully I'll have something clever to say next time.

Before I head out the door, here's a synopsis of what happened last night: Career update: Steffi’s kids TV show is called “Moitié-Moitié” (Half and Half). She plays Audrey (sp.?), a girl who's fun, sassy and theatrical. Steffi dyed her hair reddish for the role since the cast has other girls with brown or dark hair. She’s currently doing filming for the show and learning her lines. High note: Steffi started off the show by teaching everyone about 4/20, a big holiday for pot smokers that some of her classmates celebrate. Judging by the way that she and the hosts were talking, I don’t think that Steffi does weed. She just kept bringing up the topic once she ran out of things to say. (Just in case, I checked the Web cam to make sure the hosts weren’t toking in the studio. ) Camping: Steffi said she never was really allowed to go out camping in the wilderness, but she did stay overnight in her backyard when she was 6. She fell asleep in a tent during a thunderstorm, and her mom woke her up only to find that some of Steffi's books got wet and warped. However, Steffi once was in some camp program with a bunch of girls, and she got freaked out about some campfire story where some people in the area found bones with initials carved on them. Fears: Campfire stories aren't the only thing that creeps her out. As a child, she was traumatized by the scene in “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” where the bad guy gets run over by a steamroller and looks flat like a piece of paper afterward. Steffi also mutes horror movies when they get too scary and won’t watch “The Exorcist” because she doesn't like devils. Fame: Steffi still often gets recognized when she’s walking in downtown Ottawa as being the girl who wore bows and sang on Canadian Idol. She said while she doesn’t always feel like being stopped when having a bad day, she realizes that it’s part of being a public figure. She said all of the people who have come up to her have been nice, so she appreciates it. African Idol?: All of the hosts were talking about their upcoming public events, and I could've sworn that Steffi said she’s singing the Djibouti national anthem at some event coming up soon (I missed the date). I think that had to be a joke, but none of the co-hosts laughed or called her out on it. Hmm... Miscellaneous: Lastly, she is not a hockey fan, one of her friends eats paper and some guy put a dried-up worm in her hair in Grade 8.

Ibow,
If you don't have a bedtime on Friday night, you can listen to or see the show on CFRA's Web site. You probably get it on the radio where you live too.
Has anyone heard when her next show is? I'm guessing it will be next week and not this one, but I'm not sure. Combatbaby, have you heard anything?

no idea when the next show is, however i can honestly tell you steffi doesn't do weed... and that MORE than a few of her friends do. :S cause they're my friends too. i'd also just like to point out that my 8th grade boyfriend is on her show with her ;D i think that's hilarious

Yeah, I'd be surprised if Steffi actually did weed. Even though she goes to an arts school, she always seemed too busy to really get into trouble. And if her parents never let her go to sleepovers or camping, they'd probably whip her butt if she started up a smoking habit.
Combatbaby, do you know what does your old boyfriend is doing on "Moitie Moitie"?

he's playing a friend in the country... whatever that means. the basic gist of the show is a pair of siblings, one lives in the country and one lives in the city. and, actually, apparently i know half the people on the show, cause they either go to my school or go to my old school. how odd.

Hmm... That's interesting. So the TV show's cast is primarily made of people Steffi's age. At first I thought Steffi might've gotten the gig as a result of Idol, but I now wonder if the show had an open casting call or if it recruited at schools in the area.

Okay I havent been here in a few days (sorry about that!!!) so i just read this thread.. to catch up a little. STEFFI DOING WEED!!!? Cannot even imagine it. Even though i dont know her personally, I definitely dont think she would do weed. It would totally kill her brain cells.... and then her life would come down with them! I think she has common sense lol. And Moitie Moitie...srry if i spelt it wrong. This is a tv show eh?

Well, I'd like to think that Steffi would rise above peer pressure. But I suppose it could've been a possibility, given that so many Canadian teens (and especially her performing arts circle) are into pot. But Combatbaby already cleared up that issue, so we don't need to talk about it anymore. Thank goodness. And yup, "Moitie Moitie" is the TV show.
