New article on Saturday night's show: Outstanding Youth Awards honour east end's shining lights
By Fred Sherwin Orléans Online Some of the east end's most amazing young people were honoured at the Orleans Theatre on Saturday during the the 4th Annual Orléans Online Outstanding Youth Awards.
The awards were first organized in 2003 to celebrate the exploits and accomplishments of area youth. Organizers received 42 nominations this year for young people ranging in age from eight to 18.
Each nominator submitted a short biography of the person they were nominating which was passed on to the seven member judging panel. Working independently, the judges went through the submissions and selected their top 12 candidates. The lists were then compiled and any nominee who received a minimum of four selections was bestowed with an award.
Of the 42 nominees, only two were selected by all seven judges. For the distinction, 17-year-old Steffi Didomenicantonio, who made it to the top five of Canadian Idol, and 18-year-old Lester B. Pearson grad Camille Juzwik received a special Crystal Award sponsored by Regimbal Trophies.
<snip>
Beside her experience on Canadian Idol, Steff D. is also an accomplished puppeteer who writes her own plays and is an honour student at De La Salle High School.
She is currently writing her admission exams in anticipation of pursuing her career south of the border and she's working on a French language play that will be produced in either Sudbury or Toronto next spring.
Steffi took time out from her busy schedule to receive her award and bring the ceremony to a close with a spell-biding rendition of "Sunday Morning" by Maroon 5 It's a nice photo of her. She really appears to be running on all cylinders with her future. I'm shocked to hear she's still on the honor roll even with all her extracurricular activities. Combatbaby, is Steffi a lot busier than she used to be before Idol? Or has she always done stuff at a frantic pace like this?

well, i couldn't really tell ya. i'm not too sure what she used to do... but i can tell you one thing, she didn't just sit on her ass. i don't know if she's doing more, but i know that she used to do lots of stuff, and because of that she didn't really get the chance to go out on weekends all that much. and yes, she's on the honour roll. i'm in philosophy with her (hard class, but amazing) and she was the only one to get 100% on a take-home test we had to do. she works HARD.

Well, it's not my picture. It comes from Orléans Online. If this were my site, I'd give them a credit somewhere in the gallery and maybe a link to the article it came from. I can help you with that if you need it because I've saved all the links to my Word file that will someday produce her Wikipedia entry.
I'm going to put another OO picture in the photos thread that I found a few days ago. It was from her autograph signing at an Oktoberfest event.
I also found a few pictures of Steffi and Ben Durocher together, but it'd probably be a good idea to ask permission from him first before you put them in the gallery. He has a MySpace, so it shouldn't be too hard if you or someone else here wants to do that. I'll PM you the pics if you want.

I am totally glad there is more to do on Steffi D Online though now! Like after she was eliminated, there werent any pictures to upload or anything. But after I changed the address I got wayy more hits! Steffi D Online is reaching three thousand hits! Just 49 hits to go! Pretty cool eh? And idolcynic, sure you can pm me the pics! I wont post them until we all know it is okay

I found this on Google yesterday. Does anybody know about this? I know Steevie had that clip in French of Steffi being interviewed, but that was from a long time ago. It would be cool if the CBC did a feature show about Steffi, but I don't know if it already aired or what's it going to be about. I'll also post this on the CTV boards and see if anyone knows over there.

Never heard of it but thats cool that steffi is involved in so many things now that the world (or at least canada) has had a chance to see her many talents. If you hear anymore about it post something.
