Yeah, I remember that performance. It's what convinced me back in early July that Steffi was an underdog candidate to win CI. I just didn't tie the performance and that picture together.

I used to be into musicals when I was into drama during middle school and a little part of high school. I'll listen to a soundtrack when someone recommends one, but I haven't seen a play since "Crazy for You" a couple of years ago. I wanted to see "Spamalot," but I couldn't find anyone who wanted to go with me.

I don't think anyone has ever posted this video of Steffi and Ben before. I just checked on Ben's YouTube site and saw it for the first time. It's pretty impressive stuff... but I don't know much about contemporary musicals, so I don't know how the performance compares to the original. BTW, I can't find the full versions of Steffi's "Avenue Q" stuff anymore. Ben has an excerpted version of "The Internet is for Porn," but the full version as well as "The Money Song" are missing. Maybe some lawyers told YouTube to take it down because Ben didn't have the recording rights. Or maybe Ben did it so the parents of Steffi's 8-year-old Idol fans didn't freak out... even though the stuff was only PG-13. I just wanted to see Stef as Gary Coleman again. ;D |
