In Catholicism, it's the container that holds the bread/host that is used during the sacrament of Holy Communion. I recently read an article (from the Washington Post, if I recall) that said the Quebecois use "tabernacle" and "chalice" as swear words because there supposedly is a history of rebelling against the Catholic Church over there.
The whole thing sounds strange to my ear. If people over here ever shouted out, "Oh, tabernacle!" in English while slamming their fingers in the car door, I'd avert my gaze and slooowly walk away.

Haha, no shame in that. I haven't been to a Catholic church in about nine years, but I paid attention in Sunday school.

Yeah. Steevie and longlivethebow haven't been on here much lately, and there has been no news on Steffi's future besides her play in April.
