The outfit she's wearing seems to have an Asian influence to it. It's interesting. Until this show, I never thought about how she attaches the bows to her hair. I'd be wary of having a bobby pin in my hair because it'd hurt if it poked you in the head. It's a good thing I never have to wear bows... and that I'm a guy. What's interesting is that Steffi said she also tried out for college in Toronto. That's a safe bet. Although I think at least one university will accept her in New York (hopefully Juilliard but maybe somewhere like NYU), I can't see how a Canadian university would reject her after what she did on Idol. So it's unlikely that she'd face the problem of not having a place to go to college.

Julliard would be more awesome if they accept Steffi, but Steffi won't be any less awesome if she doesn't get in. There are plenty of great actresses out there who trained at other universities. I don't want her to get too down about it if they don't accept her.
But since Juilliard is Steffi's "grail," so to speak, I hope she is accepted. Maybe the CI judges and guest coaches were able to help in some way.

In this context, a grail would be a sought-after item. I rewatched the video because there was noise outside the first time I watched it. It's funny how the host kept fumbling with the ribbon, making it impossible to clearly show how it's done. Steffi and the host should've practiced before the camera started rolling. It also just hit me that Steffi was singing the same song that she sang in her audition, "Nothing is too Wonderful to be True." Being that she was preparing for her university auditions when this was taped, she must regularly use that song for auditions. It's a good fit for her.

It is, and she sings it really well. I wouldbt be surprised if she used that song for her university auditions, I really hope she gets into one, for her sake. I still dont like it tha we wont hear from her at all for 4 years though, or more.

What's different about that song is that she sings it in a different color than she normally does. Her voice usually has a brassy quality to it that some people love and some people don't. Her voice is sweeter and more subdued for "Nothing is Too Wonderful to be True." I hope Steffi continues to learn how to add diversity to her tone because it will make her more versatile, and it will get her more roles someday. Steffi will get into a university, and the odds are great that she'll get into one in New York. I once acted with a girl when I was in 7th grade and she was in 10th. She mostly did youth theater and had less training and exposure than Steffi had at the time. But she went on to make it in NYU's acting college. She has an excellent career today--you've probably heard of her before. It's no good to be pessimistic about losing touch with Stef right now. I think she'll do her best to keep up informed if we don't abandon her. We might even get a chance to see her perform. If she makes it to NYU, for instance, I hear you can sometimes see second-year students perform on stage. Juilliard is another story; I've read that only fourth-year students perform for the public.

Let's continue this discussion in the general forum's random thread since it isn't about Steffi. But here's your second hint: She's blonde and in her mid 20s, and her show has been around for about three years. (I've only seen two episodes, so I'm afraid I don't know much of the plot.)
